PROFILE OF DUMPONG RURAL BANK LTD

Dumpong Rural Bank Limited was established as a limited liability company under the companies code on 21st December 1987 in a village called Kwahu Oframase in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region of the Republic of Ghana and commenced business on the 16th of February, 1988. In the year 2004, the Bank of Ghana appointed a new board of directors to oversee the affairs of the bank. Subsequently the new General Manager and his management team were appointed and started work in the year 2006. This appointment marked the turning point of the bank to become a profitable institution. This team came out with innovative products thereby increasing bank’s market share within its catchment areas. The bank is now fully automated, have qualified and competent staff. The bank organises consistent and effective training sessions for staff facilitated by consultants as well as in-house training.

The bank is currently rated strong and ranked among the top 10 performing rural and community banks (RCBs) out of the 141 RCBs in Ghana. Recently, the bank received the International Star for Quality Award for achievement to quality by BID Group in Geneva. The bank also swapped 3 major awards in the just ended Ghana Club 100 awards for 2014 which was held at the Banquet hall, State House in Accra. The awards includes: The Most Profitable Company in Ghana, Leader in Rural Banks banking sector and 4th position in the Ghana Club 100 ratings.
